Professor P. P. Rasika Perera has been appointed as the new Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a post which is effective from the 13th of November, 2023.
Professor Rasika Perera is an expert in the field of Clinical Biochemistry. He obtained his MBBS with Honours from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 1998, and attained his PhD in Biochemistry in 2009 from the university as well. He is an active member of many organizations such as the Forum for Ethics Review Committees of Asia and the Western Pacific (FERCAP), the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI), and the College of Biochemists Sri Lanka.
Professor Rasika Perera has been recognized for his contributions to the fields of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutritional Assessment. In 2021, he received the Staff Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
