The Faculty of Graduate Studies was established in the University under Section 48A of the Universities Act No 16 of 1978. According to the Act, the Faculty of the main administrative centre for promoting research and providing courses of study leading to higher degrees and other academic distinctions. The vision of the Faculty is to firmly establish itself as a centre of excellence for advanced learning, research and scholarship both within and outside the domain of the country.
Internal Quality Assurance of FGS
The Faculty of Graduate Studies has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to oversee the quality related activities in all the postgraduate study programmes conducted by FGS. The IQAC oprates under the Internal Quality Assurance Unit of the University (IQAU).
